1st Anniversary PREP

So the hubster and I decided months ago that he would be in charge of planning Anniversary #1 (I definitely manipulated that decision).  I was glad that he would plan it all and so excited for the surprise, because I love surprises.  However, my man has a very different idea of surprises.  His idea: make the plan without her knowing, and then after I pay the money, TELL HER.  Yes, such a surprise right? Poor guy, we are working on his surprise factor.  But, he planned such a relaxing weekend at a very nice hotel in Park City with lots of fun activities to do, I should be thrilled right? However, for some reason, when he told me, and then we got talking about all that we would be doing, and the money we would be spending, for one weekend, in a nice hotel, by ourselves, we thought, isn't that what we do in our little condo, by ourselves, already? So we immediately cancelled the reservation at the hotel and decided......BACKPACKING TRIP!

Now you may ask, Why in the world would they go backpacking for a weekend in the mountains rather than sleep is a luxury hotel room and relax? Answer: because that is US.  We figure, we did the whole relax in a luxury hotel and do whatever activities we want, during our honeymoon.  Time for a change up one year later don't ya think? Backpacking is not an easy thing to do with children, and this is the perfect time to create such adventurous, fun memories. ps. i am not pregnant  And also give David a chance to try out his water filter.  Yes people, we will be filtering our own water during this trip (my sisters foreshadowed this when I was about 17 years old).

I cannot be more excited for this weekend.  I was like a little kid on Christmas when we bought my first ever pack and my very own sleeping bag.  I admit that I love the outdoors, carving sticks for smores' (or for my own pleasure), climbing trees, being in a tent, making my own food on a camping stove (ok that one may need to grow on me), but more than ever I love my husband and I cannot wait to see him in the element that he is so prepared for, I am talking Mr. Food Storage and Survival Tools prepared.
LET THE ADVENTURES BEGIN!

our meals (strictly chosen to give us energy)
