Backpacking 101

The post will mainly just consist of photos, because there is only so much you can say about a backpacking trip with two people.  But it was an absolute dream.  I was so happy the entire hike and just smiling and reminiscing about the past year of marriage.  Even though it rained, and hailed, and rained some more, I would not have traded this trip for anything else. Not to mention it was gorgeous in the Uintas National Park!

The map below shows where we hiked, starting from the Trailhead and ending at Fish Hatchery Lake.  It was quite a hike, totally worth it.
The Trailhead
he doesn't show his excitement quite like I do
Our ending destination: Fish Hatchery Lake
Yes, I carve sticks....basically my favorite thing to do while camping...ask my mom, I have been carving sticks since I was big enough to have a pocket knife
David was quite pleased with our Mountain House dinners
How we prepared our meals (consisting of Mountain House and oatmeal)
What a morning brings, after hours and hours of rain through the night

Working on my masterpiece
End product!! I was quite proud
Yup, that is my man filtering our own water.  Surprisingly it tasted very good
360 view of the area
360 of our campground

The hike back at the summit of the main mountain
This trip would not have been possible without David.  He is one handy man to have around.  He prepared and planned out everything that we needed, making sure I was not caring too much in my pack for my abilities (I will add though that mine weighed close to 40 lbs we are guessing...his was....a little more :))  We created such memories during this trip and I absolutely loved it.  Such a great accomplishment and so fun to say that we did it on our 1 year anniversary.  I love my life.
