Anderson Bits

I figured it has been a while since I did a full post on my nugget and how darn adorable he is and how fast he is growing.  I love it.  He is 9 months old today! Can you believe it? Yup, it's pretty fun.  He has his well check soon and I cannot wait to see how much my tank weighs...because I assure you...he is a tank.  This child has rolls like no ones business, a very distinct bubble bum, squishy legs and arms, and quite the appetite.  I don't wish for one second he was anything different.

Everyone keeps telling me that he is such a good eater.  I knew this, because he likes just about every food and then some, but I don't think I realized how much of a good eater he is until person after person has mentioned it.  He sits with his mouth wide open waiting for the spoon full of goodness.  Lately he even does a little grunt/whine, if I am not fast enough(yes he is a little sassy).  And even once he has had plenty of baby food, he doesn't stop, he will demand table food until everyone is done and we leave the table.  My little oinker.  But it makes it quite convenient going out to dinner because he is so content just sitting in the chair with bits of food the entire time.  He also will drink a ton too.  He loves water.  Mind you all of this food is AFTER nursing.  Yes...we have our work cut out for us in the food department as this boy gets older.

Anderson has THE softest and warmest feet and hands.  It's true.  He is HOT blooded.  This boy sweats like a man.  He is one hot headed boy, literally.  But I think it makes his little squishy feet and hands even softer, so I love it.  We just need to keep him at the pool this summer or stripped down to his diaper is all.

He is THE BIGGEST CUDDLER OF ALL TIME.  This is my favorite.  Really, he LOVES snuggling.  He still falls asleep in my arms no matter where we are, the airplane, church, sitting reading books, in my bed (that's his favorite).  The past while he has been waking up at 5 and doesn't go back to sleep until he is in bed with me, as close as he can get to my body as possible, then he will be out for another 2 hours until breakfast.  I can't complain. I adore it.  He also randomly just wants kisses.  He will lean his face around until he can kiss mine. On mine or dad's shoulders he will lean down and kiss our cheek, then lean to the other side and kiss the other one.  That usually goes on a few rounds.  He also will kiss basically any child he gets the opportunity to.  It's kinda the cutest.

He also is physically advanced...speaking as his mother here.  He has been doing the army crawl since he was 5 months old and has become pretty darn efficient at it.  He is so fast and gets wherever he wants.  He tends to like to climb over things too, showings his adventurous side you know.  He can go up onto his hands and knees just fine, but doesn't seem to have any motivation to learn to crawl because he can get everywhere he wants perfectly fine. I am basically his human playground.  He does have quite a good rug burn on his forearm that does that main pulling, so I am excited for the day of crawling...if it even comes.  He loves walking.  he stands and walks along furniture.  Recently he has learned to walk with the little standing moving car toy and he will whine at you if you don't let him continue to walk while holding his hands.  Such a diva.  Oh and today he decided to show off for his friends and stood all on his own for a good 5 seconds! I was shocked and so proud.  So we shall see how he mobility improves.
He kicks his legs when he is happy, sad, or mad.  And still points his legs stick straight like he did before he even started moving.  It's the funniest.

He loves "dancing".  He bounces while standing when you give him a beat or say "dance dance dance".  He also will start moving his upper body up and down if he is sitting and music comes on.

Loves waving at people, or cars, or toys that have a character waving on it.  He has the whole wrist side to side wave down.

Every time he is done nursing he just stops, looks up at me, smiles that big gummy smile (still no teeth, forever teething), and starts giggling.  It's one of my favorite times of the day.

He is one happy boy.  Really he is SO happy almost all of the time.  Of course he still has his moments, he is a baby, but boy is he a sweet one.  Even on lack of sleep...which comes in handy sometimes...he will be perfectly fine, smiling and making friends, and then eventually just cuddling into mom and falling asleep.  It's the greatest.  He is not the greatest napper or sleeper of all time, but how can I fault him when he just wants to be up playing and he is happy while doing so.

Anderson is quite the cautious child.  I don't like to say he is necessarily scared because he isn't, as long as he gets his own time to figure something new out.  If he can observe something for a bit, make the decision that it's safe, then he will have a ball! But until then, don't you dare try to make him play with something new because he won't have it.  He also opens up much more in calm settings.  He loves home.  He loves quiet places...becomes much more lively.  The car is where he talks nonstop.  Squeals, jabbers..."baaaa baaa baa" all day long.  But he does do perfectly fine with other kids.  He kinda just observes them playing while he waits until he feels comfortable to join in.

He loves watching.  He is very curious.  Always wants to figure things out by just watching it for a while.  He generally wants to be on the ground standing up finding places to explore.

But he also is great just taking a breather, sitting, reading a book, he loves books.  Loves turning the pages.  Loves lift the flap books, and animal books where I mimic the sounds, and he loves when you sing to him.  "The Wheels on the Bus" is a favorite.

He always tilts his head to the side..i think he knows he looks cute.  And he lays his head down anywhere...especially when eating, it's pretty darling.

Basically I think I have the perfect child.  Naturally.  He is a good mix of curious, cautious, snuggly, active, calm, goofy, happy, shy, and so much fun! He really is the sweetest.  His laugh is the greatest...peek-a-boo (without the dramatic BOO...he prefers just barely seeing your eyes, then hiding...it's hilarious), tickling, and making funny sounds to him, and "this little piggy" get some darn good laughs. He will also laugh if you laugh.  He is SO smily.  He flirts with women all the time.  And I just love him to bits.  I look forward to the next couple months before he turns 1 and then more!

So there are my Anderson bits...more like novels.  Oops.  It's a mommy thing right?
